The new Toyota Vios has been dramatically changed and there is an option of a stylish make or a sporty type. Currently in its 3rd generation, the Toyota Vios is showing far more than ever before to be an inexpensive yet lavish and roomy vehicle.
Toyota has put sensible design to work by taking the original design of the 2007 Vios and adding sophisticated improvements to complement its contoured form. The 2010 Vios features a new grille: the bars on the grille curve softly downwards in the direction of the middle point, giving the grille a slight "V" appearance, and giving the vehicle an all round sporty look. The tail lamps for this 2010 model are also different: they curve in an outward direction and present an even more dimensional design to the rear. The electrically collapsible lateral mirrors are also an improvement on the Vios.
Toyota Malaysia has unveiled the 1.5 TRD Sportivo, 1.5G, 1.5E and 1.5J variants to this country. Toyota has added enhanced features which are unique to each variant: exquisite interior chrome trimmings and combination leather seats are specific luxurious tweaks that are offered on some of the variants. The 1.5 TRD Sportivo is the cheeky and sporty version of the lot, and comes with a leather wrap steering wheel, 15 inch, 7 spoke alloy wheels and a 5 piece Aerokit, which advances the streamlined and sporty appearance of the Toyota Vios.
The Toyota Vios has been sensibly designed so that the body-shape of the car makes parking in compact spaces extremely simple. The Vios also has a minimal turning radius of 4.9 metres, making it easy when carrying out sharp turns or u-turns.
The VVT-i engine is Toyota's hallmark technological innovation and is the key element to the Vios's outstanding performance: the engine is distinctively designed to automatically regulate valve timing in order generate ultra powerful acceleration. The VVT-i engine has also been meticulously created to reduce fuel intake and produce much cleaner emissions.
The 1.5 TRD Sportivo, 1.5G and 1.5E models are automatic transmission, whereas the 1.5J has the automatic transmission variant and the manual transmission variant. In the automatic transmission versions, the Super Electronic Controlled Transmission technology delivers smoother gear changes and is designed to select the optimum gear for a comfortable drive.
The inside of the new Toyota Vios is large, with luxurious, accommodating seats, both for the front and rear passengers in the car. There is also sufficient legroom, most notably for the rear passengers, making the Vios appropriate for easily transporting three adult passengers in the rear. The boot space is abundant and can be expanded even more, when required, by collapsing the rear seats flat.
